Summer Solstice Sunrise at Haytor plus hike .

Left home at 3.50am ,arriving at Haytor around 4.30am ,car parks in and around Haytor very busy ,with around 40 people at Haytor Rocks .

Witnessed a cracking Sunrise just after 5am ,initially cloud cover hampered the initiall Sunrise but eventually the sun did make an appearance, and it was amazing.

Started the hike around 5.30 am ,eager to see the stone row near Black Hill only to be disappointment, just a few stones standing .Followed the track round ,taking in the views of Hound Tor and Greator rocks in the distance ,passing Smallacombe rocks ,back on the tram track to Haytor .

On the way to the car,a brief scary moment when a cow ran towards me ,I managed to stop the silly old moo by waving my hands around , what a way to end a great early morning hike .

Back at the car around 7.40am

Hike distance 6 miles

Weather: Warm and humid cloud with glimpses of the sun ,later a few light showers
